Claire hopped off the bus with her small load in hand, her hair playfully bobbing with each step she took.  The crisp September wind greeted her as she walked to the apartment complex she would soon be living; the smell of freshly cut grass drifting carelessly through the air.

Although she couldn't move in till 7:00 tonight, she figured getting here early would give her time to explore the grounds.  She opened her locker and tossed her suitcase in, a loud clank rang as she shut the door quickly.  She noticed a wooded area near the complex when the bus drove in, and she planned on seeing as much as she could in the next three hours until she settled in.

The puffy clouds hung in the steady, warm breeze as she walked in the woods.  A few birds chirped harmoniously with the rustle of the leaves.  Golden bars of sunlight graced the ground through the green foliage; a small spider web twinkled peacefully a few feet away.  She never felt this peaceful in all her years.

The trail she walked on twisted and turned with the trees, like a river flowing through a valley.  It's then she noticed she forgot to toss her backpack in the locker as well.  She shrugged, "No going back now."  She giggled as she looked back and was unable to see the parking lot anymore.

As she turned back something caught her eye.  Something off the trail glinted in the sunlight brightly, the golden glow beckoning her.  Curiosity got the best of her as she walked slowly off the trail to the object, each footstep leading her closer to the light's secret.  She cocked her head when the light ceased to shine.  Maybe she was imaging it, she shook her head.

A bright light rapidly enveloped her like a cocoon; the surprise sent Claire spiraling to the ground with a loud thud.  Just as quickly as the light came it disappeared and all Claire could see was darkness as she passed out from shock.

Claire slowly regained consciousness to complete darkness.  Steadily she rose, the feeling of dizziness took over as she tried to find her footing.  What happened, she thought as she grasped her head with both hands attempting to make the world stop spinning.

She took in a deep breath of air that smelled intensely of dirt and grass.  The overwhelming sensation forced her eyes open and come into focus.  The shock of the world around her only sent her to the ground once more.

Everything around her was foreign.  Grass stood at human height, while the trees intermediately glared down at her from immense towering heights.  Her heart jumped and felt lodged in her throat as she backed up quickly on all fours.  Her foot hit something hard, her heart stopping for a quick second from sheer fear.

She slowly turned around to see her phone, or at least that's what she assumed it was.  The long red cellphone sat on the ground at an alarming size, it could be used as a low love-seat if it was softer.  She was suddenly all the more grateful that she didn't eat lunch; her stomach seemed to twist, turn, and drop with every breath of air.

She started to laugh nervously, this couldn't be real—she had to be dreaming.  She quickly pinched her arm only to be met with hot pain.  She yelped, her small voice being drowned out by a large chirp that came over head.  She dared not to look above her; but curiosity only took over.

A red bird sat perched on a branch probably 80 feet above her, the fat animal looked large enough to be a full grown horse!  Claire's doe eyes became wide spheres as she inched herself slowly away from the skyscraper tree.  A tickling sensation jolted up from her leg; she whirled around to meet an up close look at a black ant if it was the size of a yorkie puppy.

She ran passed the creepy bug with a scream that was still trapped in the confines of her throat.  Her breathing increased dramatically along with her intense heartbeat.  She continued to glance behind her to see if anything was following her, but not looking in front can have consequences.

She felt her body fall before she could even think to look ahead of her.  With a splat she feel into a small mud puddle that splashed her whole body and hair.  The thick substance covered her small legs as she stood up and momentarily forgot what was happening to her.

Golden sun rays made something behind her twinkle so bright that she stopped trying to get the mud off of her.  She slowly turned, she was trying best not to breath or make a sudden movement.

Thirty feet of twinkling spiderweb loomed in front of her; the beauty of it only sent chills running up Claire's spine.  Her blood ran cold as her eyes darted cautiously around the webbing; the beautiful death trap beckoning for her to lean closer.

Where's the spider?  Claire thought as she began to panic.  A large ugly shape stood transfixed in the corner of her peripheral.  She gulped, her mouth ran dry as sand.  Claire could handle most things, spiders were not one of them.

The ugly mass slowly moved, cautious of this new and foreign animal.  It deemed it harmful, a possible threat to the eggs that lay protected on her back.  It lunged.  Claire jumped back just in time to see an up close and personal face of a pissed off wolf spider.  If she could lose her skin like in the cartoons from the fear she felt then, it wouldn't even come close to what she truly felt.

All color ran out of her skin, leaving a ghostly white hue that could resemble parchment.  She felt her legs pumping beneath her before she had time to even contemplate escape.  She ran out onto the trail that she once peacefully walked not even twenty minutes ago.  The trail truly reminded her of a valley that stood amongst the jungle that she just came out of, along with a monster on her heels.  All eight legs could be clearly heard as they beat the ground; the angry clicking of the spider's jowls signaling the end of her time.

Half way across the trail she tripped, her knees and elbows scuffing the ground below.  Sweat poured from her forehead as she whipped around to see the creature of true nightmare only five feet away.  Finally she was able to let out the scream that was being held in her throat all this time.
Warning: If you don't like GT/SW stories or anything like that I wouldn't read this. Thanks :)

So I wanted to get a taste of what Claire was going through so I looked up Wolf Spider Face on the internet only to be met with the ugly mug that will surely give me nightmares when I go to bed. Yay. Thanks for reading! :D

again, I am liking the story, but I sense your writing could be better! I say again: vary sentence structure! It is hard for me to explain, but i think you understand. I see the potential in you to be a better writer, I really do. It is fine right now, I am able to clearly see and imagine what is happening and unlike other stories, the writing isn't turning me away from reading it (far from it actually) and it has.
If you do need an example I would be honored if you read the first chapter of my GT story (I am not advertising myself as a great writer, far from it in fact, I am offering myself up as a amateur example!)

also (about the previous chapter because I forgot to mention it!): I love the part about how Clair looks like her mom but acts like her dad, SO DO I!!!! and almost in the same way.
